Wrestler Randy Orton and Olympian Beth Tweddle are celebrating their birthdays today.
Wrestler Randy Orton turns 34 today. Orton, born into a family legacy of wrestling, is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee. He was an amateur wrestler during his high school years and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps shortly after graduation in 1998.
Orton began his career two years later at the Mid-Missouri Wrestling Association-Southern Illinois Conference Wrestling or MMWA-SICW in St. Louis. He signed with World Wrestling Entertainment or WWE in 2001.
Orton is known for his moves like the dropkick, European uppercut and corner clothesline. He has also won titles such as the Ohio Valley Wrestling or OVW Hardcore Championship, Pro Wrestling Illustrated or PWI Most Popular Wrestler of the Year and WWE World Heavyweight Championship just to name a few. Orton has also been on shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Deal or No Deal, along with a few films.
Randy Orton married Samantha Speno in 2007 and officially divorced in 2013. The couple had their daughter Alanna Marie Orton in 2008.
Olympian Beth Tweddle turns 29 today. Tweddle is originally from Johannesburg, South Africa. She started competitive gymnastics at the age of seven. In 2001, she competed at the World Championships in Belgium, resulting in the British team placing ninth. This started her path towards the Olympics. She graduated with a Sports Science degree from Liverpool John Moores University in 2007
Tweddle has won over 20 gold medals in events like the uneven bars and floor for the United Kingdoms and one gold medal in the uneven bars event for England. She has seen three Olympics: Athens, Beijing and London. Tweddle retired her Olympic career in 2013.
Tweddle was inducted to the Queen's New Years Honours List in 2010. Now, the Olympian works closely with Total Gymnastics where she is a director.
Beth Tweddle dated financial adviser Steve Cryer from 2010 until 2013.
