Actor Brett Davern, known for his work on MTV’s Awkward, had a top qualifying time in the 2014 Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race on Saturday afternoon in Long Beach, California.
Davern told the Associated Press, "I just wanted to keep it clean early. Then I got out front and had it good for a while, but after about five laps everything started to happen around us on the track."
According to Just Jared, was “drowned in celebratory champagne” after he won the race on Saturday. The actor was thrilled and posted messages on Twitter and Instagram.
Davern plays Danny Krueger, a drag racer, in Born to Race: Face Track, the film about qualifying in a 10 lap race. Davern stars with Beau Mirchoff in the film. The movie also features Sharon Lawrence and Corbin Bernsen. The film was directed by Alex Ranarivelo. The screenplay was written by Steve Sarno. The story is by Steve Sarno, Ali Afshar, and George Shamieh, and Alex Ranarivelo.
Awkward’s Season Four begins on April 15th at 10PM.
