Though there were some technical glitches during their sets at SXSW music festival, up and coming band We Were Promised Jetpacks left the festival with even more fans.
According to the Associated Press, Adam Thompson, singer-guitarist for the Scottish band, which made its fourth appearance at the festival said, "This South By feels different for us. It does feel like the first two were amazing to help us play shows and get people to notice us. Even stupid stuff like our name was funny, so people would come see us.”
New bands like We Were Promised Jetpacks were able to enjoy the additional exposure from the festival. As this was their fourth appearance at the festival, the band said the first two performances helped to put them on the map. At SXSW, the band had some technical troubles resulting in a quick set up, but the show continued on and gathered tons of fans.
Some of the bigger pop stars get the most state-of-the-art equipment and play some of the biggest shows. This year, SXSW hosted Jay Z, Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Coldplay, CeeLo Green, Rick Ross, and Keith Urban. According to the LA Times, Willie Nelson also played at SXSW on Saturday night. The music festival, which takes place in Austin, TX is celebrating their 28th year.
