Producer Jerry Bruckheimer reflects on four decades of filmmaking

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer recently reflected on his 40 years in the film business in a new interview. He also discussed the recently released Jerry Bruckheimer: When Lightning Strikes - Four Decades of Filmmaking, a book that goes over his career.

“(It's) a coffee-table book to celebrate the movies that I've made, my time at Disney and my time in the business, basically," Bruckheimer told Associated Press.

The 70 year old producer says the book features information about his films. The Disney executive played a role in producing Beverly Hills Cop and Top Gun. On television, he is responsible for such success projects as CSI and The Amazing Race. The Amazing Race is still popular and takes place this season in Malaysia, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Bruckheimer plays an active role in projects. He spends months at a time on film sets. Snapshots that he’s taken from the film sets appear in the new coffee table book. As he looks forward, he says that he’s never certain what will be most popular for fans of television and the movies.

"Great storytelling is great storytelling," he told the AP.

Bruckheimer films has 40 projects in the works, and the TV division has numerous scripts in development. His new projects currently in development including Home for Fox and another CSI spinoff.
