New Jersey teen skirts guard and climbs up spiral of Freedom Tower

A 16 year old New Jersey boy penetrated the supposedly impenetrable Freedom Tower on Thursday morning around 4 a.m.

Justin Casquejo told police that he went through a hole in the fence, a class union elevator operator gave him a lift up to the 88th floor, and walked the rest of the way to the 104th floor where the guard protecting the tower was asleep, and then he climbed up the spiral.

The NY Post caught up to Casquejo and tried to ask him some questions that were met with this response, “Ha ha, oh yeah, that. Right. I would really love to talk to you guys because I have a lot that I want to say about it. I was told that I just can’t [talk] without permission.” He summed up his experience in one word on Twitter “Inspired.”

According to the Assocated Press, the New Jersey teen was captured and charged with misdemeanor trespass.

After police took Casquejo into custody, his camera and cellphone were taken.
