The guardianship filing for Paul Walker's daughter by his mother was not agreed upon by all parties.
It was previously reported that Paul Walker’s mother, Cheryl Ann Walker, filed for guardianship of her granddaughter, Meadow, and that the decision was unanimous. However, new details reveal this is not the case.
A source close to the situation exclusively told E! News that this decision took people by “surprise.”
"This has been hard on everyone close to them. [Meadow and her mom] didn't know," the insider said. "There have been discussions but no one told them they were going ahead with it. They first heard about it when they saw it on TMZ. They are very disgusted by this. It's completely thoughtless and disrespectful."
The source continued to say that Meadow’s mother, Rebecca, an ex girlfriend of Paul Walker, will fight this. Rebecca and her daughter are currently not living with Paul Walker’s mother, despite previous reports, but have stayed at the house “on and off” while they look for a new place.
The source did confirm that despite Rebecca’s two DUIs, the mother does not have a drinking problem.
“Rebecca is a great mother and Meadow is a very happy child,” the insider said.
According to ABC News, a temporary guardianship hearing is scheduled to take place on March 27 and a permanent guardianship hearing is scheduled for April 30.
