National Geographic Channel will be airing Live From Space this Friday at 8PM.
The special will originate from the International Space Station, and it will feature astronaut, Rick Mastracchio. News reporter Soledad O’Brien will be providing commentary for the live event from NASA Mission Control in Houston.
According to the Associated Press, O Brien said, “The moment I understood that I would be firmly on the ground and THEY would be firmly in space, and we would have an opportunity to do something that hasn't been done before, I was in."
Broadcaster Koichi Wakata will be one of the on-board correspondents. Live From Space will include a guided tour of the space station and a discussion how astronauts are able to live day-to-day while in microgravity. The astronauts have been taping segments, in case there is any interruption from the space station to the base station. The astronauts will explain the purpose of the space station.
The special will air on National Geographic Channel in 170 countries. According to the Telegraph, Live From Space will air on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom.
