A mudslide in Snohomish County in Washington killed three people, injured at least eight others, and demolished six houses on Saturday.
Authorities are reverse 911 calling residents, telling them that there is a danger that there could be flooding upstream from the mudslide.
According to NBC News, Snohomish County government representatives tweeted, “Very high potential for fast upstream, downstream flooding. Prep now in case you have to leave quickly.”
Cheryl Burrows, 56, wasn’t home when the mudslide hit. However, when she asked about her house, which had four dogs and a cat, authorities told her that nothing was left, according to the Seattle Times.
The community has come out and helped in this time of need. Coffee, boots and other supplies have been donated to the victims.
The mudslide has been estimated to be 40 yards wide and 100 yards from top to bottom.
