Man purchases old car and finds 51 year old love letter hidden inside

For the ones who believe true love never dies, than this story will surely be heartwarming to read about. At a car auction in Nebraska, buyer Dean Sparks purchased a 1959 Chevy Bel-Air that had more rust on it than actual blue paint. With years of rust, water damage and mice chewing their way through the old car, Sparks never suspected that he would find anything of value in the car.
However, when he brought the car back home to start restoring it, he found a 51 year old love letter buried under the driver’s seat addressed to a man named Ronnie Waterbury. Motoramic reported that the love letter was from someone named Beverly who wrote about how she missed Ronnie and the final line of the letter stated, “Let’s get married.”
What is even more touching is that after Sparks found the letter he decided to try and return the letter to its original owners. Through his research he found out that Beverly and Ronnie Waterbury eloped and ended up having two children together.
According to ABC Sparks and his wife were able to find Wade Waterbury, the son of Beverly and Ronnie on Youtube and contacted him to tell him about the letter.
“It was very, very emotional for me. I lost my parents and it brought back so many memories. It was just like a flash,” said Waterbury.
Sparks and Waterbury were able to talk about his parents and it was revealed how his parents eloped in the same exact car Sparks had bought at the auction.
“I was floored. Who else would even think about returning it to me? Everybody would just say, ‘Oh, here’s a letter, and throw it in the trash,’” said Waterbury.
Sparks plans on reviving the old car and after that plans to bring it back to Waterbury’s residence so he can drive the old car for himself.
