Knowshon Moreno signs with Miami Dolphins

Former Denver Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno agreed to a one-year contract with the Miami Dolphins on Thursday. The deal is worth $3 million.

Moreno was drafted by the Broncos as the 12th overall pick in 2009. The best season of his five-year career was last year. Last year he rushed for 1,038 yards, had 60 receptions, and 13 touchdowns, according to the Associated Press. Moreno’s 1,586 yards from scrimmage put him fifth in the NFL. His 10 rushing touchdowns tied him for fourth in the NFL.

The signing of Moreno is good news for the Dolphins. He will help an offense that has been struggling. Lamar Miller had709 yards last year and Daniel Thomas had just 406 yards. The Dolphins had an average of just 90 rushing yards per game last year. Their offense ranked 26th in the NFL last year, according to ESPN.

One thing that could hurt the Dolphins is Moreno staying healthy. He has had a lot of injuries in his five years in the NFL. He has played for the whole season just twice in his career. In 2011 and 2012 he was limited to 15 games. The Dolphins have to hope that Moreno can stay healthy.
