Joan Collins recreates Ellen Degeneres' Oscars selfie

Joan Collins, formerly known from “Dynasty,” made an attempt to outdo Ellen DeGeneres’ Oscars selfie during the Prince’s Trust & Samsung Celebrate Success Awards in London.

The Oscars selfie has been recreated by a variety of individuals and the actual self has also seen a few makeovers including one by The Simpsons.

However, Collins thought she would give it a try amongst the crowded celebrity red carpet. Some of the stars surrounding her include, according to the New York Daily News are Dominic West, Sir Ben Kingsley and Jeremy Irons.

Some other stars that were mentioned by Glamour Magazine U.K, include Pixie Lott, Sam Bailey, Gabby Logan and Vernon Kay while others were trying to sneak in the photograph as well. However, not everyone can be seen in the photo.

According to E! News, Prince Charles, who was the host of the Prince’s Trust Celebrate Success Award, posed for formal photographs with the group, however politely refused the selfie request by Collins.

The New York Daily News dubbed the selfie as a failure due to a majority of the stars getting cut out of the photo and for the blurry quality.

After Collins posted the selfie on Twitter, it received about 420 reposts, in comparison to “the picture that broke Twitter” starring DeGeneres, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Jared Leto and more. The original selfie was retweeted approximately 3.2 million times.
