During the most recent airing of Ellen, Arrested Development star Jason Bateman talked about making his directorial debut in a feature length film, called Bad Words. Not only is Bateman directing the film he is starring in it as well. The talk show host was able to interview Bateman on his role in the film to his experience as a director.
When asked about his character, Guy Trilby, Bateman talked about Trilby’s unpleasant persona. “His development is somewhat arrested,” he told Ellen in a playful mention to his role in Arrested Development.
The Salt Lake Tribune stated that he was interested in the film because each of the characters had a humorous flaws about them, similar to the characters in many of Bateman’s other roles in T.V. and film.
When Ellen asked about his experience as a director, Bateman had nothing but positive feedback.
“I had three goals. I wanted to be a dad. I wanted to be a husband and I wanted to direct a movie,” said Bateman.
