'Homeland' actor James Rebhorn dies at age 65 after a long battle with skin cancer

Homeland actor, James Rebhorn, who plays the father of CIA officer Carrie Mathison, has died at the age of 65.

Rebhorn’s agent, Dianne Busch, confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that he passed away in his home on Friday March 21 with his family present. He is survived by his wife Rebecca and their two daughters.

According to E! News, his acting career has spanned more than five decades. Rebhorn was featured in more than 100 TV shows, films and stage productions.

Besides Homeland, some of his other notable television characters were a special agent on White Collar and the attorney who sent the characters of Seinfeld to jail in the series finale in 1998. He also appeared in popular shows like Law & Order, 30 Rock, and The Good Wife.

Rebhorn also played roles in many movies. He appeared in famous movies like Independence Day, My Cousin Vinny and Meet the Parents.
