Giorgio Armani donates to UNICEF Tap Project for every 10 minutes you stay off your phone

For 10 minutes that someone goes without using their cellphone, Giorgio Armani Fragrances donates a days worth of water for a child in need to the UNICEF Tap Project.

Giorgio Armani is a national sponsor for UNICEF and has been working with them on the Tap Project for the last five years. However this year not only can Giorgio Armani help children across the world who do not have access to clean water, so can anyone with a smartphone.

The process is simple. Using your smartphone, open up the web browser, go to uniceftappproject.org, follow the instructions or press "Begin" and refrain from using your phone.

The longer you go without using your phone, for say Twitter or checking email, the more money Giorgio Armani will donate and the more water available to children in urgent need to water.

According to UNICEF, currently they are working with more than 100 countries around the world "to improve access to safe water and sanitation facilities in schools and communities and to promote safe hygiene practices. Some of the children's fund's projects include the donation of water kits, water treatment products, portable toilets and hygiene kits to hundreds of thousands of the 768 million people around the world in need, particularly in the Philippines.

According to lookingtothestars.org, Kelly Clarkson, Madonna and Angelina Jolie are only a few of the celebrity supporters of UNICEF.

Although the Tap Project ends March 31st, there is still plenty of time to make a difference.

Not to mention, putting down your phone isn't the only way to help out. To donate to the UNICEF Tap Project visit the website uniceftappproject.org to select your donation amount. Just $5 and give 200 days worth of clean water.
