Gamer Developers conference begins today in San Francisco

Game Makers will have a chance to discuss their industry at the Gamer Developers conference in San Francisco this week. The conference begins on Monday at the Moscone Center and continues through Friday. It is the 27th annual conference, according to the SF Gate.

The conference this year will draw 23,000 game developers from all over the world. Sessions for the conference include “Beyond Graphics: Reaching the Visually Impaired Gamer,” and “Women Don't Want to Work in Games (and Other Myths).” Social hierarchy will be discussed at a panel. Companies like Sony will have their say regarding virtual reality technology at a presentation on Tuesday.

Organizers will take on a number of topics including designing games for people with disabilities. According to the Associated Press, Simon Carless, executive vice president of UBM Tech Game Network, which organizes GDC and several other technology conventions, "It's something that in some way or another has always been part of the conference, but it's something that we've found interest in genuinely continue to grow as the industry has become more diverse and inclusive.”
