Having spent much of the past half year writing and recording new music, Counting Crows announced summer tour dates with Toad the Wet Sprocket opening.
Sending out a message via YouTube Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz announced the band will be spending the summer out on the road throughout North America. In the video, with a soundtrack of their own “Rain King”, Duritz also explains that the band have been writing and recording for a new album due to hit this coming fall, and will be touring beforehand throughout the summer with Toad the Wet Sprocket in support.
The San Francisco Bay Area band released several updates through Instagram over the last several months with snippets of songs and song titles including, “Dislocation”, “Earthquake Driver”, “"God of Ocean Tides," and "Palisades Park." The “Mr. Jones” hit makers announced the completion of recording at the end of February on Twitter. Mixing for the album is scheduled for April with and an album release date for the yet-untitled follow up to Saturday Night, Sunday Mornings set for the fall.
