Christine McVie rejoins Fleetwood Mac for tour

When Christine McVie, keyboardist and singer quit Fleetwood Mac in 1998, it seemed the band would never get back together. Boy, were we wrong—the band returned last year for a tour but now, after a three-decade reprieve, McVie is rejoining Fleetwood Mac for a world tour in September paired with a new album in the works.

The tour, On With the Show will kick off in Minneapolis, Minn. On Sept. 30 at the Target Center. The band will play 34 shows across North American in 33 cities as reported by USA Today.

If you have an American express card, you’re in luck—card members can buy tickets through Livenation’s app and new website starting Monday, March 31 at 10 a.m. through Sunday, April 6 at 10 p.m, all before the general public has the opportunity.

‘I had some deluded idea that I wanted to live the 'country lady' life," McVie told new Rolling Stone "But I went through a divorce and I felt isolated in the country. I grew quite ill and depressed."

McVie had a change of heart and realized rejoining Fleetwood Mac would give her life a great sense of joy.

With McVie rejoining the group, they can now perform hits such as "Little Lies," "You Make Loving Fun," "Everywhere" and various songs Fleetwood Mac was unable to play in almost 20 years.

"Being back is really a time warp," said McVie. "The tour is going to be great fun. I feel like a pig in poo right now."

"She had us all seriously convinced that she would never come back," Nicks said in an interview with Today

The group toured just last year without Christine McVie, but it came to a halt when John McVie was diagnosed with cancer. He’s currently doing chemotherapy and his health is doing well enough for him to record his bass parts-- true dedication.

In mid-march the band began working on a slew of new songs but they have no intention of releasing anything until after their world tour. A set list isn’t planned out just yet, but they all have a good idea of what they’ll be playing.

"Stevie and I both have songs we pretty much have to play. When you add in Christine's hits, you pretty much have a set, though that's not to say there won't be a few little surprises around the edges," said Buckingham.
