The fledgling actor moved to New York, and starred in off Broadway shows.
Parsons began his career in Ed, and had reoccurring in Judging Amyand voiced a character on Family Guy.
In 2007, Parsons began filming on a show called The Big Bang Theory, which skyrocketed him to fame as Sheldon Cooper.
Recently, Parsons won an Oscar for the series.

Actress Alyson Hannigan, 40, was born in Washington, DC in 1974, married Alexis Denisof, and has two children.
Hannigan began her career at the age of four starring in commercials, and then moved onto staring in American Pie, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and American Reunion.
The actress also voiced characters from The Wild Thornberrys, Rugrats and The Simpsons.
Hannigan not only films, but she is also an advocate for breast cancer.
Denisof and Hannigan have two children, Satyana Marie and Keeva Jane.
