In every business model, making profit is the goal but sometimes it comes at the cost of many jobs.
Reported by the Associated Press, CNBC writes, United Airlines will drop the Cleveland hub which will cut about 470 jobs. This is all because the hub has not been lucrative in amounts of tens of millions of dollars over the last 10 years, said CEO, Jeff Smisek, in a letter to workers, reports CNBC.
That makes sense. If your business is not flourishing as needed, then changes must be taken to fix the problem. On the other hand, it is never good news to no longer be needed at your place of employment.
This news does not mean that United Airlines will never have a stop for Cleveland, but it does mean that it will see a 60 percent decrease in daily departures, notes the Chicago Tribune.
In efforts of true team work, when one stop fails we all suffer and when the company is not making money, most of us lose our jobs.
