Former Olympian Todd Hays is enjoying his career as a coach after winning previously at Bobsled and Skeleton.
In 2002, Hays took home the silver medal in the 4-man bobsled at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, Utah. He took home silver and bronze medals in 2003 and 2004. He finished 7th in 2-man and 4-man at the 2006 Olympics. He attempted to participated in Bobsled in 2010, but sustained an injury in Winterberg, Germany. He suffered from what was believed to be a concussion.
This year, Hays is returning to the Olympics as a coach for the Woman’s Bobsled Team. According to ESPN, Hays said, "I've always been interested in the position. It's always an Olympic coach's goal to coach for their home country, so this was a great opportunity that presented itself."
Hays has a great name among fellow athletes. Elana Meyers, a 2010 Olympic bronze medalist, said, “Todd Hays is a game changer. He is a great addition to the team and will put the U.S. women in a position to win three medals in Sochi."
Hays isn’t only accomplished in Bobsled. He was also involved in American football and kickboxing. Hays also joined the folks at NBC Nascar, to talk about his Olympic success.
