Subway to remove chemical from bread

Several ingredients go into food to make them delicious and fresh, but the food chain Subway wants to take it one step further and increase the nutritional value of their bread.

As reported by ABC 2 News, Subway is taking out a chemical in their bread and a representative of the chain said, "The complete conversion to have this product out of the bread will be done soon."

The closer food gets to its original natural state, the healthier it is for consumers. Subway has prided itself on being a health food choice for on-the-go customers. Whether this was a move the company was planning on taking, or whether it was pressured to move is the question.

According to 11Alive, the act of removing the chemical Azodiacarbonamide might be the result of food blogger, Vani Hari at FoodBabe.com, who claims it is used in yoga mats and show rubber.

The power of a blog is understated. Because of her research and popularity, Hari has the power to ask companies like Subway to make their food better for consumers. This is a great way for businesses to get real feedback from their audiences and make changes to fit their needs.
