Rapper 50 Cent signs agreement with Caroline, leaves Interscope

50 Cent announced that he is leaving his longtime record label, Universal Music Group's Interscope Records and Eminem's imprint, Shady/Aftermath.

According to the Associated Press, 50 Cent and his G-Unit Records have signed a distribution agreement with Caroline, the independent label at Capital Music Group.

50 Cent was nominated for five Grammys for his album, The Massacre. He has won 13 Billboard Music Awards and 2 MTV Video Music Awards. 50 Cent’s first album,Get Rich or Die Tryin,' sold six million copies. 50 Cent’s most recent album was Street King Immortal in 2014. He also recorded Get Rich or Die Tryin’ in 2003, The Massacre, Before I Self Destruct, and Animal Ambition. The rapper was set to release a fifth album on the label, but it was set with multiple release dates and singles. 50 Cent, instead, decided to go independent.

50 Cent thanked Eminem and Dr. Dre in a statement. 50 Cent's latest single, "My Life" features Adam Levine and Eminem, according to Billboard.
