Nuns get exemption to contraceptive condition

When the Affordable Care Act a.k.a. Obamacare went into affect lots of groups had complaints. Many of them have voiced their opinion, and now the nuns of Denver want theirs heard.

According to CNN, the Supreme Court ruled on Friday that religious, non-profit, and similar groups for the time being are exempt from Obamacare conditions about covering contraceptives, because they pose a moral threat.

Most religious affiliations and organizations are opposed to birth control and the like, so these groups would naturally be against this section of the Affordable Care Act.

The Daily Record writes, the ruling was in favor of an exemption for the Denver nuns that work for charity nursing homes if they write out their complaint, as reported by the Associated Press.

Now there is a face to the opposition in disfavor to the contraceptive condition in Obamacare.

In this law, worship centers do not have to meet the requirement of covering all Food and Drug Administration approved birth control freely, but charities and organizations that service the public do not fall under this exemption, writes The Daily Report.

No one assumes that the church or synagogue would gladly hand out contraceptives, but this group of nuns is going to great lengths to see that their moral views are not compromised.
