The New York Knicks are close to buying out two of their players. These players are small forward Metta World Peace and point guard Beno Udrih.
According to USA Today, World Peace and Udrih will join a group of bought out players and look for their next team to play for.
World Peace took his buyout well, thanking the Knicks and their fans on his Twitter account. However, his brother Daniel didn't respond as kindly. He trashed the Knicks' organization in a Twitter rant, as reported by NY Daily News. His comments included calling Knicks owner James Dolan "the worst owner in sports" and referring to head coach Mike Woodson as "trash."
World Peace was used sparingly this season and averaged 4.8 points per game while averaging 13.4 minutes for the Knicks.
Udrih received little playing time with the Knicks as their point guard, but he is expected to be a serviceable backup with another team. He averages 8.9 points and 3.6 assists per game throughout his career.
