Red Wagon Entertainment is bringing in a new vice president of film and television. Nicki Cortese will be leading working with the creative executive staff members at the company.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Red Wagon co-head Doug Wick said in a statement, while co-head Lucy Fisher added, “Nicki arrives with extraordinary creative relationships, and she brings the energy and talent to put them all to use.”
Red Wagon is currently working on the film, Divergent. Divergent is the story about a female protagonist, Beatrice Prior. It stars Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller. It also features Kate Winslet. It is directed by Neil Burger and was written by Evan Daugherty and Vanessa Taylor. According to Variety, it is a film that focuses on a society divided into five factions, each dedicated to a particular virtue — Candor, Abnegation, Dauntless, Amity and Erudite. As the lead character Beatrice changes factions, she shifts dramatically.
Divergent takes its story from Veronica Roth’s bestselling YA trilogy. The film will be released later this year.
