Mariah Carey believes Valentine’s Day should be all about her

Mariah Carey, 43, and husband, Nick Cannon, 33, may not be able to spend this Valentine’s Day together, but that doesn’t mean she’s not still expecting it to be all about her. This April, the two will be celebrating their six year anniversary.

According to IB Times, on Thursday, Carey spoke to radio host Ryan Seacrest and said, “The abandoner is going to be somewhere else. And by abandoner, I mean Nicholas Scott Cannon. I was giving him s**t about it all day. I’ll be with the babies, but they’re my Valentines anyways.” The two have twins together, Morrocan and Monroe, who are now 2-years-old. Carey said that it’s hard to always be able to get together on specific days with the kind of schedules they have.

Canon is reportedly supposed to be in New Orleans today for the 2014 Spring NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, but even though they won’t be together on the romantic day, Carey still has her own thoughts on how the day should go. “I told Nick, ‘Valentine’s Day is for girls,” she told New York’s 106.1 radio station this morning. “’I mean, I’ll get you something, but really, I think it should be all about me.‘”

The two made sure to celebrate together yesterday, and Carey has plans to send him some selfies in some sexy lingerie. The couple has no problem always showing their love for each other. Carey told the radio station, “Nick and I celebrate our wedding anniversary every month. The 30th of every month, we give each other balloons. We give each other roses.”

Carey has no problem spending the day with Monroe and Moroccan, but she’s just happy her and her husband got to celebrate together, even if it wasn’t on the real Valentine’s Day. Here’s the whole interview with the singer, where she also talks about how she spends snow days with the twins and more on the couples Valentine’s Day plans.
