Lady Gaga and her production crew took over world famous Hearst Castle in San Simeon, California to shoot her latest video “G.U.Y.” off of her ARTPOP album.
According to The Hollywood Reporter Gaga and company took over the historical landmark for three days, February 11 to 13, to shoot her new video, including the indoor pool and the outside Neptune Pool, which was featured in Stanley Kubrick’s 1960 epic Spartacus.
THR also reported the cast of Bravo’s reality show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills were spotted by the Neptune pool on February 12. Us Weekly had the exclusive that all of the cast was in another Gaga video for “Gypsy”, which was said to have been taped just before a reunion special of the Bravo hit.
SF Gate noted Gaga made a hefty donation for use of the castle; $250,000 to the Hearst Castle foundation in addition to underwriting a $25,000 water supply study and paying special fees. Due to California’s recent draught, the Neptune pool was set to be drained in order to water surrounding gardens, which Gaga’s generous donation should cover any possibility of that.
