Khloe Kardashian walked the streets of New York City Monday, Feb. 17 with sisters, Kim and Kourtney, making a huge fashion statement against fur. Kardashian wore a huge faux fur coat with the words “Fxck Yo Fur” spray-painted in red on the back. Some people seem to be giving the reality TV-star some criticism, not realizing that she is wearing fake fur.
Kardashian, who is a longtime animal activist, tweeted about her coat after hitting the streets saying, “F—k Yo Fur!!! Fake fur all day, people!!” with a video of the coat up close. She also posted a picture of herself in the coat to her Instagram and she wore this coat proudly!
Apparently, people aren’t grasping the concept that faux means fake and think Kardashian is actually wearing a fur coat. She took to Twitter to respond to the negative talk by tweeting, “How do people not know that FAUX means FAKE?!? Come on people!”
Back in 2008, Kardashian posed completely naked for a PETA ad with the words, “Fur? I’d rather go naked,” written across it. She then posted to her blog saying “I am done with fur forever and I have now found so many amazing faux fur lines that are great alternatives for women who love the look and love animals.”
Stepping out in NYC in this coat had nothing to do with PETA, though, since Kardashian has since cut ties with PETA. It turns out a woman who was associated with the organization threw flour on Kim Kardashian in the past and Khloe has refused to be a part of PETA since, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t still continue to not wear fur on her own. She believes everyone is entitled to their own opinions and can believe in whatever they want to believe in. “I personally don’t wear fur,” she wrote on her blog. “But that doesn’t mean I am going to force my view on anyone else, ESPECIALLY by violating them.”
