After refusing to move a fire truck, a San Diego fire fighter was handcuffed on the scene of an accident.
The unnamed officer cuffed Jacob Gregoire when he would not move his truck which was parked to shield reduce workers and victims of the accident from oncoming traffic.
‘It’s unbelievable that you guys have to treat us like this. We are on the road trying to help people," Gregoire stated to the officer.
According the Daily Mail, the video footage then shows the officer walking Gregoire away from the scene and placing him in the back of a police car where he was held for 30 minutes.
“The protocol for the fire department is to protect the scene. When we arrive on these traffic accidents cars are going at a high rate of speed especially at night. We will block lanes to protect our firefighters and our paramedics,” Concialdi, Orange County Fire Authority Captain explained.
Yahoo! News noted that charges were not placed on the fire fighter.
Two injuries were reported from the accident, with one person being hospitalized.
CNN mentioned that the the fire department and police department will discuss the incident for future sessions.
