Demi Lovato surprises children at Levine Children’s Hospital

On Feb. 26, the Ryan Seacrest Foundation thanked singer Demi Lovato for surprising the children at Levine Children’s Hospital.

Lovato, who made time to visit during her Neon Lights tour, was greeted by a studio filled with young patients who are fans of the 21-year-old singer.

According to the Ryan Seacrest Foundation the crowd couldn’t contain their excitement as Lovato sat down with them to discuss her life, music and career.

With the crowd varying in ages, Lovato was asked what could be done in order to make hospital gowns more stylish.

She answered, “The first thing I would do is make it really edgy.”

She compares it to the jean jacket she’s sporting and demonstrates the safety pins she has in it. Safety pins and studs are some things that didn’t come originally on her jacket, but she advises that these were items to make a hospital gown more edgy, along with some modestly placed holes.

Lovato was also prompted to give some advice on what she does when she’s having a bad day, as the hospital see their fair share of struggles.

She shares that although she does sometimes find some comfort to read what her love her fans send her, it’s not enough to change the day completely.

“You have to make the decision yourself to change your day,” Lovato shared. “So what I do is look at it and think to myself, ‘OK, I’m cranky, I’m tired or whatever it is. How can I change my perspective on this?’ And when I realize, OK well, I’m thankful that I have so much work to do that I am tired. I just reverse the thinking.”
