Former singer of Hootie and the Blowfish performed in Albany at the Times Union Center this past Friday, Feb. 14.
Country Singer < a href= http://thecelebritycafe.com/interviews/hootie_and_the_blowfish_2003-12.html>Darius Rucker put on a show to remember Friday night, with openers; David Nail and Eli Young Band.
Rucker opened up the show with a presentation on the screen of how the radio has been changing over the years. It was accompanied by various genres of music that were songs that all fans at the concert were able to relate to. When it was over, Rucker walked on stage to sing his latest hit song “Radio.” The fans were excited for the song because it set the tone for the rest of the night.
Despite the snowstorm that occurred the day before, it did not deter fans from coming out to watch the show because every seat was filled.
< a href=http://blog.timesunion.com/localarts/darius-rucker-eli-young-band-and-david-nail-at-times-union-center-021414/32224/>Rucker sang songs ranging from the days when he toured with Hootie, which covered many of the hits from the late 90’s that he came out with; including “Hold My Hand.”
He finished off the show with an encore which included his version of “Wagon Wheel” which was originally sung by Bob Dylan.
In 2008, Rucker went country and discovered a whole new range of fans, followed by much success up til present day. One of his most important accomplishments was winning a Grammy Award.
