Carrie Ann Inaba reacts to Brooke Burke-Charvet being fired

On Feb. 23, Brooke Burke-Charvet joked about being fired from ABC’s show Dancing With The Stars, however, it doesn’t seem that everyone was happy about the decision, including Carrie Ann Inaba.

According to E! News, Inaba was “floored” to hear about the decision to replace Burke-Charvet with sports reporter Erin Andrews. Inaba said that she had immediately sent her a text message to ask if she was alright.

“We all know this kind of stuff happens in our business and we all have to be prepared and nothing’s forever and you have to be willing to change, but it was shocking,” Inaba admitted. “I’m not going to lie- I was shocked and saddened.”

On Friday, Burke-Charvet had an exclusive interview with E! News confirming her departure from the show. She had said that she’s enjoyed the seven seasons she’s had with Dancing With The Stars however, she understood the change and she was going to embrace it for other opportunities she may receive in the future.

She also said, “I’ve seen my fair share of shocking eliminations in the ballroom but this one takes the cake.”

Inaba also admitted she doesn’t particularly know how the show will change with Andrews as an addition. She described Andrews as being “really tough,” and sees that being a potential change in the vibe of the show.

“I think that when she’s asking questions she’s going to push some buttons a little bit,” Inaba said. “I’m curious to see how that’ll work.”

Additionally, sources told E! News yesterday that the network hopes that Andrews’ presence will bring a younger crowd into the show’s viewing audience.

“They don’t want the ratings to keep dipping,” a source working on the show said.
