Watch out, Mila Kunis! Seth MacFarlane has confirmed that Ted 2 will be happening and Amanda Seyfried will be the lead female role. The original Ted comedy movie was released in 2012 and Seth MacFarlane will be directing the sequel as well.
Back in August, MacFarlane announced the release of Ted 2 over Twitter by answering a fan about the release date. “We’re aiming for a 2015 Passover release date,” he said.
Deadlines reports that Mark Wahlberg will be back as the lead male role with his inappropriate teddy bear best friend. The first movie featured Mila Kunis as the lead role, but apparently she will only appear for a small part of this one, if at all. The decision has nothing to do with anything other than a creative decision by MacFarlane.
MacFarlane, who is the creator, writer and plays many of the voices on the hit series, Family Guy, still remains close with Kunis, who plays the voice of Meg on the show. Seyfried and MacFarlane have also worked together as a featured role in his upcoming movie, A Million Ways to Die in the West.
According to Us Weekly, the original Ted broke box-office records in 2012, grossing almost $550 million around the world. MacFarlane is set to produce and write the sequel. He will also be returning as the voice of the foul-mouthed teddy bear, Ted, who we all can’t help but love.
Ted 2 is set to hit theaters June 2015. Wahlberg and Seyfried are definitely on board, but Seyfried’s character and storyline remain unknown.
