The Wanted is a boy band from the United Kingdom which consists of five members: Max George, Jay McGuiness, Siva Kaneswaran, Nathan Sykes, and Tom Parker. After forming in 2009, they were signed to Island Record and Mercury Records. They are managed by Scooter Braun.
Their first album, The Wanted, was released in October of 2010. They landed three UK top 20 singles from the album, and the album itself was No. 4. In 2011, they released their album, Battleground. They landed their second number one hit with "Glad You Came," which was at the top of the charts for weeks. The single sold 3 million copies in the United States.
Last year, the band announced their own reality series on E!, which is titled The Wanted Life.
On January 22, 2014, the famous boy band announced they were splitting up on their personal website, which they then shared with fans via Twitter. It stated that they just wanted to take time off to "pursue personal endeavours." The boys plan to release another single off their latest album, Word of Mouth, before the break.
