Kendrick has a knack for hooks, and it's obvious when listening one of two title tracks of good kid, m.A.A.d city. Between choruses though, there's more than enough content in Kendrick's rap to keep listeners interested.
Here, he speaks about an idea central to the whole album. His struggle to remain true to some sort of morality despite the dominant culture of violence and crime the surround him in Compton.
