When creative people have time on their hands, watch out. Members of the a cappella group, and winners of season 3 The Sing-Off, Pentatonix got together and did acted out a medley of songs from the Disney’s Frozen.
Featuring three of the five members, Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi and Kirstin Maldonado, the video shows each getting a turn playing main characters Elsa and Anna, singing a medley of songs "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?," "For the First Time in Forever," "Love Is an Open Door" and "Let It Go." Using Hoying and Grassi’s YouTube comedy channel Superfruit as vehicle for the video, the pair enlist help from bandmate Maldonado to complete the video. Props throughout the video include blonde wigs, cut up pieces of paper for snow, and even Maldonado’s hair draped over the boys heads as Anna’s hair. The 8-minute video also features flubbed lines, laughing and outtakes at the end.
According to The Hollywood Reporter the trio actually sang together in high school before recruiting bass singer Avi Kaplan and beatboxer Kevin Olusola before competing on The Sing-Off. The quintet released their sophomore album PTX Vol. 2 in December and are scheduled for a world tour starting in February.
