McDonald’s traditional Happy Meal was being swapped for the drug heroin –a very different take on the childhood symbol.
According the Pittsburgh Post–Gazette, Shantia Dennis, 26, was arrested at the East Pittsburgh McDonald’s for selling heroin from the drive-through window, said officials.
Luckily this was not given to unsuspecting families or hungry teens by accident. The buyers came to the restaurant with the intention of getting the drug.
The special instructions to obtain the drug were these words, “I’d like to order a toy,” said Mike Manko, spokesman for the district attorney, according to FOX News, in an interview with the Associated Press.
Just like that, drugs were being sold amongst hamburgers and milkshakes at one of America’s busiest fast-food chains.
Investigators do not think this was the same batch involved in last week’s recently high death toll of heroin users in Pennsylvania, writes the Post- Gazette.
Do not fear, the next time you are ordering your favorite No. 27 with no cheese you are not being served drugs.
