Alternative kings Jane’s Addiction were set to go on hiatus, which was short lived, after an announcement of the band commemorating their 25th anniversary of the iconic Nothing’s Shocking album by playing the album in its entirety at the Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas.
While Rolling Stone had reported in an interview with lead singer Perry Ferrell, the frontman stated his focus would be on launching an EDM based project Kind Heaven, a musical set in Southern Thailand. “This is a massive undertaking so Jane’s Addiction is going on hiatus,” he said. “It’ll be a couple years until you see Jane’s again.”
Now two weeks later, Billboard announced the line-up for the opening weekend of the new Vegas venue Brooklyn Bowl which opens March 8 that included Steve Winwood, Primus, Cake, and yes, Jane’s Addiction.
Rolling Stone reported today the idea for the Jane’s Addiction came from a show the band did last month for the CES trade show in Vegas. "We had a blast performing at our event during the CES show this month," Farrell says, "so we decided that Vegas would be a great spot for a final celebration of our 25th anniversary."
Jane’s Addiction will perform Nothing’s Shocking in its entirety for three shows, March 8-10. The 1998 debut album catapulted their career with classics “Jane Says”, “Ocean Size” and “Mountain Song”. One can hope but there are no plans yet for any other shows playing the album in full.
