Singer/songwriter Neil Diamond and actor Ed Helms are celebrating their birthdays today.
Neil Diamond, who began his career in the 1960s, turns 73 today. Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, Diamond has produced ten Billboard Hot 100 #1 singles.
These songs include his first American #1 hit "Cracklin' Rosie", which was written and performed by Diamond in 1970. Other #1 hits written by Diamond include "Desiree", "America" and "Song Sung Blue."
Diamond also wrote the #1 hit "I'm a Believer" in 1966, which was recorded and performed by The Monkees. "Sweet Caroline" is another popular song by Diamond written in 1969. It didn't reach the top of the charts, but it still reached #4 and went platinum.
Ed Helms, who gained fame by playing Andy Bernard in The Office, celebrates his 40th birthday today.
Although his role in The Office is what he became best known for, Helms worked with Jon Stewart as a correspondent on The Daily Show from 2002-09.
Helms gained even more fame in 2009 when he starred as Stu Price in the popular comedy film The Hangover, and he reprised his role in the two sequels. He also played drug lord Brad Gurdlinger in the comedy We're the Millers, which was released in 2013.
