Fantasia Barrino talks suicidal rumors and married men on 'The View'

On Jan. 20, the former American Idol winner, Fantasia Barrino acted as guest co-host on ABC’s The View. She was there to discuss her work in her latest Broadway musical After Midnight.

It wasn't long however, until she is asked about rumors about her being suicidal. Barrino denied the rumors saying, “You know, I’m not depressed I’m blessed. And I think that when you carry that, there are people who will try their best to knick and pick and try to find things that used to break Fantasia, but that Fantasia is gone.”

The discussion then turned to BET’s new show starring Gabrielle Union, Being Mary Jane . In the show, Union’s character is seeing a married man.

Barrino, who has previously been in a relationship with a married man
said, “I think that if you’re going to go into a situation, there’s no need to take the old baggage with you regardless of what they had going on. But if that isn’t the situation, ‘Run, run as fast as you can. Can’t catch me. I’m the gingerbread man.”
