Cleveland Cavaliers acquire Luol Deng in trade with Chicago Bulls

The Cleveland Cavaliers acquired forward Luol Deng in a trade with the Chicago Bulls for center Andrew Bynum on Tuesday.
The Cavaliers also gave the Bulls a first-round pick from Sacramento, two second-round selections, and the Bulls have the right to swap first-round choices if the Cavaliers aren’t in the lottery, according to the Associated Press. The Cavaliers are currently 11-23, and have lost eight of their last nine games. They will probably miss the playoffs again. They hope that Deng can help improve their team.
''He's a guy who has won and won deep in the playoffs,'' Cavaliers coach Mike Brown said. ''He has the ability to score, defend, moves well without the basketball, knows how to play offense very well, can post up, score off the screens, versatile. He brings a lot of everything.''
Bynum will be waived by the Bulls before the rest of his $12.3 million contract becomes guaranteed on Tuesday. By waiving Bynum, the Bulls will drop below the luxury-tax threshold and save almost $15 million, according to the Chicago Tribune. Deng said goodbye to Chicago via Twitter.
Deng tweeted, "You will hear a lot of can't and a lot of won't, but you give it everything you can because you believe in yourself and your teammates. You push yourself with your heart, mind and soul, and smile every night knowing you put love and passion into it. Thank you, Chicago."
This season Deng is averaging 19 points and 6.9 rebounds. The Cavaliers need someone who can score and be a leader. Hopefully Deng can help improve the Cavaliers who are struggling right now.
