Bill Hader tapped for role in new Judd Apatow movie ‘Trainwreck’

The former Saturday Night Live star is in talks for a role in the new Judd Apatow produced and directed comedy Trainwreck.

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed Hader, who stars in the new film The Skeleton Twins which hit Sundance earlier this month, is in negotiations to join the film. Stand-up comedienne Amy Schumer, who also wrote the script, is confirmed to star.

Variety also reported the script is being kept under wraps with no details given. Universal Senior VP of Production Erik Baiers will oversee the project, which is due out July 2015.

The Skeleton Twins received rave reviews, for the film and the two SNL alums Hader and Kristin Wiig, who play depressed and suicidal twins. Of course, a more dramatic role for both but still cynical humor with this being dubbed a black comedy. The film also stars Ty Burrell of Modern Family and Luke Wilson.

Lionsgate has picked up The Skeleton Twins and with such positive marks all around there’s no doubt the film will get a release date soon.
