An Oklahoma man is apprehended by the police while trying to propose to his girlfriend

In December of 2013, Justin Harrel proposed to his girlfriend while in handcuffs.

According to Yahoo News, Harrel, who had outstanding warrants in two counties, was spotted by an officer at a local park. When the officer attempted to arrest him, Justin resisted, explaining that he was about to propose to his girlfriend. The officer then allowed him to go ahead and continue with his plans. Harrel's girlfriend accepted, and the officer gave her the ring out of Harrel's coat pocket due to her new fiance being in handcuffs. Officers then took Justin to the Elk City Police Department.

The 32-year old Elk City native was wanted for obtaining cash and/or merchandise by bogus check in both counties but was not cited for resisting arrest.

News 9 was able to catch up with Harrel's fiance, Elaina Rios, who said that her fiance is simply misunderstood: "We're best friends. He completes me. He's my rock and I'm his rock. Everybody thinks he's a bad guy and he's not."
