It’s an early edition of the Trailer Park this week, filled with films all debuting on either Christmas Eve or Day. That means it’s time for the big guns--big movies with big stars. DeNiro & Stallone go back to their boxing roots for a film about a rematch thirty years in the making.
Retired boxing rivals step back into the ring in Grudge Match. Tensions mount and a fight breaks out when Billy "The Kid" McDonnen and Henry "Razor" Sharp meet while filming a video game. When the video of their rumble becomes a viral sensation, the two are offered tons of cash to come out of retirement and fight at an HBO event. Each with a win against each other, the competition could finally decide who is the better boxer. Sylvester Stallone, Robert De Niro, Kevin Hart, Alan Arkin, Kim Basinger and Jon Bernthal star in the PG-13 comedic drama. The film runs for one hour and fifty-four minutes.
Greed and power take over the life of a New York stock broker in The Wolf of Wall Street. The two hour and fifty-nine minute film is based on the true story of Jordan Belfort, the man behind the Stratton Oakmont brokerage firm who defrauded millions of dollars from rich stockholders and used the money to live a life of luxury. The drama is directed by Martin Scorsese and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Margot Robbie, Matthew McConaughey and Jon Favreau. It’s rated R for sex, nudity, drugs, language and violence.
A man with a seemingly ordinary life imagines that he’s doing incredible things in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. When he’s on the brink of losing his job, he ends up experiencing things he never could have imagined. The line between his daydreams and reality blurs. The PG fantasy comedy stars Ben Stiller, Kristen Wiig, Shirley MacLaine, Adam Scott, Kathryn Hahn and Sean Penn. It plays for one hour and fifty-four minutes.
A slave becomes the salvation for a group of samurai looking to avenge the death of their leader in 47 Ronin. Having once outcast the man, they must now lean on him to survive as they battle deadly mythical creatures on their journey for revenge. Keanu Reeves stars in the PG-13 fantasy adventure. The film is playing for one hour and fifty-nine minutes in 2D and 3D theaters.
Beliebers can rejoice. Teen superstar Justin Bieber has released another documentary, Justin Bieber’s Believe. This PG film provides a never-before-seen look into the singer’s life and the acceleration of his career from YouTube star to multi-millionaire. It features interviews, concert footage and commentary from his mom, Usher and Ludacris among others. The documentary is playing for one hour and thirty-two minutes.
