Beyonce surprises Walmart shoppers with $50 gift cards

Not only did Beyonce drop an album with no marketing tricks while still climbing the Billboard charts, but she also dropped in at Walmart and purchased a $50 dollar gift card for all customers in the super store said FOX News.

The Walmart in question was located in Tewksbury, Mass. The “Irreplaceable” singer pushed her own cart up and down aisles and even picked up a copy of her own album. According to Us Weekly the star even got on the speaker system to greet customers. According to the store manager 750 gift cards were enclosed within envelopes that read, "Happy Holidays from Beyoncé."

Now some are wondering if this is Beyonce’s way of telling Target what she thinks of their decision to not carry physical copies of her CD. "At Target we focus on offering our guests a wide assortment of physical CDs, and when a new album is available digitally before it is available physically, it impacts demand and sales projections," Target spokesperson Erica Julkowski said in a statement. Amazon has also decided to not carry the physical copy of Beyonce’s CD.

However, Walmart has decided to still continue to carry the CD, which obviously proved very beneficial to some of their customers.
