It's been a busy year for singer, Selena Gomez.

The 21-year-old pop singer, who grew up in Grand Prairie, Texas has officially announced that she will be performing during the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving halftime show, while they take on the Oakland Raiders at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

On Nov. 3 the pop singer tweeted, "I'm kicking off @SalvationArmyUS's 123rd #RedKettleCampaign this Thanksgiving w/a halftime performance during the @DallasCowboys game!"

According to E Online , Gomez was very excited to take on this opportunity. "I'm so excited to be here. I'm from Texas, so I'm a little nervous I'm not going to lie. But I'm very honored and I hope that we come--me, my dancers, and my band and we give Texas a really good show and I make them proud."

Following her announcement via Twitter, Gomez then posted a photo on her Instagram account sharing her new gig. She quoted, "Feels SO good to be home. Hi Dallas. I hope i make TX proud."

This will be the 17th year the Cowboys have teamed up with the Army to launch the Red Kettle Campaign.
