One Republic has released the follow up single to “Counting Stars” off of their album Native, with the catchy and upbeat “Something I Need.”
One Republic has advanced their sound past older hits like, “Apologize” and “Secrets.” This is not a bad thing, One Republic has kept the keys to their sound that made them popular but advanced the instrumentals, lyrics and all around production.
“Counting Stars” showed off this modern advancement but “Something I Need” takes it to the next level. The lyrics are catchy, fun and modern.
The music video that has been created compliments the song but adds some comedy to it.
The music video for “Something I Need” features a funny story line and will have fans smiling and cracking up by the end. It is nice to see One Republic having fun with their videos and showing a more creative side instead of just a typical performance video.
