Due to an ever-growing common problem among singers, Janelle Monáe was forced to three dates from her current tour due to mandatory vocal rest from her doctor.
The “Electric Lady” posted a letter on her website postponing shows in San Diego, Anaheim, and Phoenix. She stated that canceling these shows made her "heartsick and shaken because I live for this: connecting with you and giving you a one of a kind concert experience." She also posted, lightheartedly, “But alas, apparently even the most expertly designed android breaks down sometimes and must recharge...”
According to Rolling Stone her current outing is now scheduled to resume Saturday, November 9, in Dallas, Texas and continue until the end of the month. Monáe's latest album, The Electric Lady, came out in September with guest spots from Prince, Erykah Badu, Solange and Miguel. In addition to her tour, Monáe appeared last month on Saturday Night Live, and performed at the iTunes Festival in London.
