Celebrity Philanthropists: Josh Duhamel hosts Halloween costume contest for charity

Halloween isn’t known as the most charitable time of year. However, Josh Duhamel made giving ghoulish this Oct. 31st by hosting a Halloween costume contest for charity.

The 40-year-old actor announced the family-friendly contest on his Facebook page.

“It’s that time of year again; time to show off your Halloween costumes!! Just like last year, I’m going to pick my favorite costumes for kids, adults, and pets, but this year, you guys get to vote too!”

The winner of each category gets $500 that Duhamel will donate to the charity of each winner’s choice.

There are already pages of entries on the contest’s website. Among the costumed contestants, voters will find a pug disguised as a bumblebee, a baby Popeye, and even a framed Mona Lisa.

It’s no secret that Duhamel loves Halloween. This year, he and his wife Fergie dressed up twice for the spooky holiday. In their first Halloween outing, the couple wore matching The Day of the Dead costumes and was almost unrecognizable in heavy makeup and skeleton attire.

The following day, the famous duo arrived at Kate Hudson’s Halloween party in completely different costumes. Fergie showed off her assets in an Elvira get up, and Duhamel transformed himself into Riff Raff from The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

The Duhamels’ costumes were impressive, but they, of course, are not eligible for the winning prize. To vote for the contestants who are and help award $1,500 to charity click here!
