Unser wakes up in his trailer in the Teller Morrow lot, and starts his day off how he normally does: lighting up a joint. He goes to walk outside and is met by a punch in the face by a masked man. Two other masked men hold Unser down as the one who punched him pulls out a rather large knife.
Jax gets an unexpected visit from Tig, who he had figured August was going to kill the night before at the porn warehouse. Tig asks Jax if they're good. Jax lies through his teeth in his response.
At Diosa, Roosevelt waits for Nero to arrive so he can question him about the dead working girl. Roosevelt has a warrant to search Nero's truck, which matches the description of the vehicle leaving the scene, according to witnesses. Nero knows he didn't do anything, so he goes with Roosevelt to the station. Toric sits on his car outside and watches as Nero is escorted to the police cruiser.
Jax meets with August to discuss Clay. August tells Jax that he made a deal to keep Clay alive, for now, but Clay had to kill the Aryan leader in prison to do so, and that blowback could come the club's way. August also knows Jax wants out of the gun business, and he offers himself as the new potential partner for the Irish, also telling Jax that if the gun business comes his way, Tig's debt would be considered settled. Meanwhile, back at the garage, Gemma gets to the office, and sees Unser strung up inside with a swastika carved into his chest.
As Tara is patching up Unser, a few members of the SoCal charter of the Sons, including their president, Les (guest star Robert Patrick), arrive to tell Jax in person that his charter shot down the idea of taking over SAMCRO's gun running. Jax calls all the guys to the table, where he breaks that news to the rest of them. He also mentions that he's going to reach out to Darby, the former head of the Aryan brotherhood in Charming, for information about the attack on Unser. After chapel, Chibbs questions some of the decisions that Jax has been making without the club's approval, even going as far as to say that Jax may be turning into Clay. Jax takes offense to that, tells Chibbs that he will never be like Clay.
Toric goes to see DA Patterson and tries to pin the dead hooker on Roosevelt, implying that he's in the club's pocket. Patterson, not buying it, tells Toric that he has until the end of the day to get Clay to sign the agreement, or else the badge she gave him will just be a paper weight.
At the police station, Nero is being questioned by Roosevelt. Nero's alibi checks out, or at least we know that. As Nero is getting ready to leave, he mentions Toric, and asks Roosevelt if he has anything to do with the investigation. Nero tells the sheriff about Toric roughing up two of his guys, but Roosevelt tells Nero that Toric doesn't, and shouldn't, have anything to do with this.
Jax and the guys go to see Darby. He's out of the life, but still a cautious man, still carrying a gun on him almost everywhere he goes. Jax asks him if he knows anything about the guys who carved up Unser. Darby tells Jax about an old running mate who recently got out of prison that could be behind it. This guy, Gerber, might also want Darby dead. Jax tells Darby that he'll take care of it, anything to slow down the Aryan brotherhood in Charming. Jax, Chibbs and Happy leave Darby's to go meet with the Irish, while Tig, Juice, Ratboy and Darby go to Gerber's.
Tig and Rat try to talk their way into Gerber's inner circle, posing as father and son. Tig uses the painful memory of watching his daughter being burned alive as his reason for hating anyone who's not white, and it seems like Gerber has bought it. Just as Tig and Rat are about to head into the house, a van pulls up and Juice and Darby are thrown out. Rat, acting on his feet, grabs his gun and holds Gerber hostage so they can make a break for it. In the getaway truck, Gerber threatens Darby and his wife, so Darby kicks him in the face, then Tig tosses him out of the moving truck.
Jax, Chibbs and Happy arrive at the warehouse to meet with Galen. Jax tells Galen that the SoCal charter won't be taking over their gun business. Galen doesn't seem to care, because according to the Irish Kings, the Sons are locked into their gun deal. They all like the idea of doubling their business, plus Galen brought with him two crates of KG-9s which he expects payment for. Jax says they're out, and that's final. Galen takes a swing at Jax, but Jax ducks and lands a punch right in Galen's gut. Jax reiterates that they're not buying the guns. They seems to agree to cease business for now, but Galen seems a little shady.
Lyla tells Gemma, against Nero's wishes, that he's at the police station. She rushes down there and starts raising hell. The crime scene report has come back on Nero's truck. Roosevelt reads about the blood and hair that's everywhere in the truck. It doesn't make sense to him, and he puts it together that the evidence was planted. He asks his deputy for anything he can find on Lee Toric, then lets Nero go.
Toric visits Clay in solitary. He threatens Clay just as he did Otto, promising to make Clay's life a living hell if he doesn't cooperate. As he's leaving, Toric tells Clay that there's someone he'll want to see in the infirmary and he'll be meeting with him soon.
Jax and the guys get Darby back to his place. Darby says he can handle this himself, but Jax insists that the club will help out. Jax then gets a call from Phil that Galen just arrived at the gun warehouse, saying it's a little odd, as most deliveries are made to the reservation. Phil then tells Galen that Jax will be there soon. Just as Phil finishes talking, Galen shoot him in the head, then one of his men shoots the prospect in the head as well. Galen tells his guy to get an axe.
Jax and the guys get to the warehouse and the first thing they see is a pool of blood on the ground outside. They head to the warehouse, and as they open the door, on the ground are Phil's and V-Lin's kuttes, along with their severed hands.
All of the guns are gone, except for the KG-9s. Jax asks Tig if he could find Gerber's farm again. Chibbs tells Jax that they should take a breather, but Jax shoves that off. Jax asks Chibbs, rhetorically, if they should vote on it, to which is says that he'll proxy Phil's vote in, and Phil says yes, retaliate. Jax tells the guys that they're off to finish their Nazi hunt.
Toric brings Clay to see Otto, who looks like he's literally been through hell. Clay says he's sorry and tells Otto that what he's going through is almost over. He goes in to hug Otto, then slips him the shiv that the black inmate had left for Clay the night before. Back in his cell, Clay still refuses to help Toric, even after seeing what Toric had done to Otto. Clay is convinced that Otto will never rat again, to which Toric says that he'll regret that Clay didn't cooperate.
Wendy is meeting with Tara and Lowen at the hospital. Apparently, Wendy is in on whatever Tara is planning, and is an integral cog in the machine, as she's the one who is keeping Gemma at bay. Wendy has journals that she wrote that pre-date her marriage with Jax that chronicle the violence associated with the club, and is willing to testify.
The club rides to Gerber's, ready to cause some damage. Gerber and his men don't even get off the front porch before Jax and the Sons open fire, killing everyone that walked out of the house. Jax and the guys were all using the KG-9s, and it's Jax's plan to leave all the guns in the farmhouse and make it look like an internal beef between the white supremacists. Jax tells his guys to wipe the guns clean, leave everything there, then burn it all down.
Toric goes back to see Otto, without Clay this time. Toric wants all of Otto's pain to stop, and that can happen if Otto rolls on Clay, who Toric mentions is kicked out of the club, so Otto wouldn't be ratting on a brother. Otto needs a hand freed so he can write. Otto proceeds to write a pretty vulgar message about Toric's sister and shows it to Toric. Toric loses control and jumps on top of Otto, attempting to strangle him. Otto pulls out the shiv and stabs Toric multiple times. A guard comes in, but Toric yells at him to leave the room. The guard hits the alarm before he leaves. Toric admits that he didn't see that coming, and frankly, neither did I. Otto waits for more guards to arrive. They have guns drawn and tell Otto to put down the knife. He slices Toric's throat, killing him instantly, then gets up and waits for the hail of gunfire to come.
The episode ends with Patterson examining Toric's body and the scene of his death, as well as Jax and the guys burying Phil and V-Lin. There's no shortage of death and shocking violence so far this season, and it doesn't seem to be slowing down either, we're only four episodes in.
